hi im using Mon'tregul's Grasp, have 5 zombies. 6 link with 21 zombie 21 multistrike 21 melee splash 21 melee damage 2 empower right now using 20/20 faster attacks, but was wondering if the added chaos damage gem would add chaos damage to the grasp monster explostion. | Posted by brunnen on Oct 30, 2014, 1:42:53 AM |
It would but I doubt it would be all that impactful. If you wanna make the grasp monster explosions hurt more you could maybe try using Fire Penetration. My supporter items: Victario's Charity and The Forsaken | Posted by on Oct 30, 2014, 2:07:09 AM |
' just wondering is the damaged from added chaos damage to the zombies attacks combined with grasp explosion chaos damage would out dps added faster attack. but i guess there is no easy math forumla for that im using haste aura. like because it benefits spectres and skeletons too. but would hatred be much better because grasp is boosting the zombies physical damage? also would added fire damage be better than faster attacks? There's no simplified formula but if you wanna crunch the numbers you can look up the zombies' base stats in this document made by GGG: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ahqk9lptRHcMdHdjM1hTNTV1NzhBeEtQYlVvM1NvSFE#gid=0 There's also this document made by another player which might be of some use to you: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjlPIPmJcxopdHpJMzZ0czRDS0pZMW9SeGc0am42MXc&usp=sharing#gid=11 I can't say anything about how accurate it is as I haven't used it myself. It does look like it can't accuratly account for the increased physical damage that Grasp provides so that's unfortunate. You could plot it in as minion damage from passives but that would make Added Chaos Damage look better than it actually is. Something math wont show you though is which support and aura setup feels best to play. For example, Added Fire might result in a theoretically higher dps than faster attacks but faster attacks might still be the better choice since it makes it so that the zombies are stuck in place multistriking for a shorter amount of time. A lot people, myself included, love chrunching numbers and theorycrafting but it's important to also simply try stuff out ingame and play around with a lot of different setups to get a feel for the effect they have. ' The explosion deals fire dmg...and upon death, determined by mob hp that was killed I believe...a support wont help it...except maybe fire penetration like someone said, but to directly boost it I don't think so..... Best way to crank out dmg is to ditch purity if you have it and run haste and hatred on generosity and then discipline by itself, grab EE and double curse with elemental weakness and vulnerability. You would curse on hit with arc, or ball lightning, some find arc boring but it chains 5 targets in 1 cast! It's best to use added fire and melee support with this setup because melee support will raise your added fire dmg and hatred dmg and because of your curses they will take both large burst of elemental and physical dmg...undying evangelist are a good pair with this setup because they do a physical aoe spell! Which also benefits from all this! Last edited by justinmm1988 on Oct 30, 2014, 4:09:57 AM | Posted by justinmm1988 on Oct 30, 2014, 4:00:38 AM |
